Beginnings & Beliefs
The Worship Center is a non-denominational community church based on all of the foundational truths taught in the Bible.
How We Began
Our journey began in 1972 when a small group of born-again, spirit-filled believers came together with a vision to create a place where all believers, regardless of denomination or background, could come together to worship freely. Our mission was to teach about our identity in Christ and how to live a spirit-filled life, sharing God’s love with others and growing His Kingdom. They saw their vision and mission come to life and it carries on today as we continue to teach the uncompromised Word of God. Join us on this exciting journey of faith and community at North MS Worship Center!
Our Core Beliefs
We Believe that the entire Bible is inspired by God, infallible and without error. It serves as the ultimate authority on which we base our faith, conduct, and doctrine.
We Believe There is One Way to God for Eternal Life. Jesus is the Way!
Believing in Jesus and truly repenting are essential for salvation. Repentance involves turning away from sin and fully committing to following Christ in every aspect of our lives. This allows us to receive redemption and be transformed by the Holy Spirit. Through genuine repentance, we are able to receive forgiveness for our sins and attain salvation. John 3:3, John 14:6, Romans 10:9,10
We Believe in Water Baptism.
Water baptism symbolizes the cleansing power of Jesus Christ's blood. It serves as a public testimony of our faith and represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Acts 2:41; 8:12-13, 36-38
We Believe in the Baptism and Power of the Holy Spirit.
The promise of the Father, given at Pentecost and sent by Jesus after His Ascension, empowers the Church to spread the Gospel to all corners of the earth. We trust in this divine gift to guide and strengthen us in our mission. Acts 10:45-46, Acts 19:1-6, Acts 2:4
We Believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit graciously reveals Himself through a diverse range of spiritual gifts to build up the church, confirm the truth of the resurrection, and demonstrate the authority of the Gospel. It is our sincere belief that all believers should eagerly pursue these gifts, making sure they are in line with the teachings of the Bible. 1 Cor. Chapters 12 & 14, Galatians 5:22-23
We Believe in Growing His Kingdom.
Our belief extends to the idea that the church should function as a united community of servants, utilizing our spiritual gifts both within and beyond the church walls to serve and reach our local community and the world with the Gospel. Mark 16:15, Luke 14:23, Colossians 3:14
We Believe in Demonstrating Christ Love for Us.
Above all, we want to emphasize that Jesus loves you, and so do we. Every individual deserves to be loved and ministered to unconditionally and without restrictions. You are loved and you are welcome at The Worship Center. John 13:34-35, 1 John 4:7-8, 20-21
